After looking out the window for some time, she glanced over at her bed.
She didn't feel unwell, but the doctor told her she couldn't leave until he had given clearance.
Never before in her life had she felt so alone - far from her family and friends - far from the comfort of home.
She decided to get back into bed and at least pretend that she was resting, in the hope that might be able to leave.
