Tracey Benson is a multimedia artist and curator residing in Brisbane. Since 1993 she has had 10 solo shows and she has participated in over 70 group exhibitions. Her work has been presented in the USA, England, Russia, Germany and Ireland as well as local and interstate exhibitions. She has just completed a research masters project at the Centre for innovation in the arts (CINOVA) at Queensland University of Technology, which is currently under exaimination.
In August, Tracey will be taking up an offer to undertake doctorial reseach at the Australian National University, where she will focus her attention on online sites of consumption.
She has been working primarily in the realm of multimedia for the last six years, with a focus on developing hypertextual works and digital animations specifically for the World Wide Web. Her digital work has been presented on the Experimenta media arts on-line gallery, MAAP'99, Sciart'99 and MAAP2000. In March 2001 some of her work will tour regional galleries around Australia as part of the www.cowgrrls.com project initiated by Cooloola Shire Gallery.
